Sean P. Handy is an associate at the firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation defense litigation. Mr. Handy has experience handling all aspects of Workers’ Compensation matters, from initial file opening through the post-trial appeals process, including oral argument before the California District Court of Appeals and subsequent appeals to the California State Supreme Court.


Born and raised in Massachusetts, Mr. Handy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College in 2006, majoring in Political Science with a Minor in U.S. History. Mr. Handy then attended Pepperdine University’s School of Law where he received a Juris Doctorate and Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution upon his graduation in 2009.


Upon graduation from law school in 2009, Mr. Handy began his employment with Hitzke & Associates in Long Beach, CA. While at Hitzke & Associates, Mr. Handy gained invaluable experience in the field of Workers’ Compensation, representing both Applicants and defending employers. This experience led Mr. Handy to accept a position at Bradford & Barthel, where he aggressively defended employers in his position as an associate attorney. His successful track record led Mr. Handy to be the managing attorney for numerous individual client accounts and an acting managing attorney of the firm’s Tarzana office.


Mr. Handy prides himself in never losing sight of the broad, overall view of a claim and tailoring his strategies to provide the most aggressive and cost-effective resolution possible to the client, while never shying away from Trial should the necessary facts present themselves.


Mr. Handy was admitted to practice law in both the State of California and the Central District of California in 2009.
