ANDREW B. LOWER

PARTNER

Mr. Lower, a certified legal specialist in workers’ compensation and a founding partner of the firm, specializing in workers’ compensation defense litigation.  With more than fifteen (15) years experience exclusively handling all aspects of litigated cases from inception to conclusion, Mr. Lower has excelled in resolving cases by Compromise & Release at early stages of litigation, in addition to prevailing at trial level with numerous “take nothing” decisions.  He has extensive experience in home health care cases, 132a Petitions, Serious & Willful Misconduct claims, and post-termination trials.  He has defended employers from wage & hour loss claims at the Labor Commission.

 

While in law school, Mr. Lower helped create the legal database for Workcompcentral.com, annotating California case law with relevant Labor Code and California Code of Regulations sections.  Prior to starting Lower & Kesner, LLP, Mr. Lower was a partner at Pierce & Weiss, LLP.

 

A graduate of University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in May 1999, Mr. Lower received his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine School of Law in May 2002.  He was a founding member of the Law School's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Law (CETL).  Mr. Lower was admitted to practice in California immediately following passage of the July 2003 Bar Exam.       

                     
Mr. Lower focuses on each client’s needs as per their specific requirements, including focus on early exit strategies, Compromise & Release buyouts at all stages of litigation, prevailing on AOE/COE trials where viable, and most importantly saving against litigation and discovery costs.  An expert in assessing the strength of legal and factual defenses against claims for industrial causation, his trial “take nothing” record is very impressive.  

 

Mr. Lower was admitted to practice in California in 2002 and is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
