
RODNEY D. KESNER

Mr. Kesner, a certified legal specialist in workers’ compensation and a founding partner of the firm, has twelve (12) years experience in handling all aspects of workers' compensation defense litigation, including serious and willful misconduct and Labor Code section 132a claims. Mr. Kesner also has a wide range of civil litigation experience, including workers' compensation subrogation, employment-related issues, and personal injury litigation.
Prior to starting Lower & Kesner, LLP in November of 2009, Mr. Kesner was a partner at Pierce & Weiss in Los Angeles beginning January, 2006 and was a senior member of the Workers’ Compensation department since 2002. Mr. Kesner has also clerked for a small probate litigation firm in 1998 and a national employment and labor law defense firm, Jackson, Lewis, Schnitzler & Krupman in Los Angeles from 1996-1998.
Mr. Kesner is a graduate of California Western School of Law (J.D. 1998) and the University of California at San Diego. (B.A. 1993) Mr. Kesner has received several full defense verdicts in serious and willful misconduct cases, lien and penalty trials and workers' compensation cases-in-chief.
Mr. Kesner has provided numerous educational seminars regarding the changes in Workers' Compensation law to entities including the claims staff of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, City of Los Angeles City Attorneys and claims adjusters, and claims staff of Sedgwick Claims Management, American Claims Management, Broadspire and Cambridge Integrated Services. Mr. Kesner was admitted to practice in 1999 in all State Courts and the Federal Court, Central District.
